Independence Day in Greece
Friday March 24, 2006
March 25th is a dual national holiday in Greece - Independence Day and the Feast of the Annunciation. Combining both the political and the religious, travelers will be surrounded by pageantry of one kind or another. What's the effect on your travel plans? Shops and many sites will be closed, transportation schedules may be different than usual, and streets may be temporarily blocked for parades or religious activities. It's a great time to go with the flow and enjoy the day.
