The Athens Metro, swooping up to the ferry docks, has made Piraeus a viable low-budget alternative to staying in Athens itself. And if you're lucky and any reconstructed ancient ships are in the neighborhood, chances are they'll be docking just outside the fascinating Nautical Museum. Does Piraeus look ever so slightly familiar? If you're an old movie buff, it should - it was the setting for the classic Greek movie "Never on Sunday".
