Plane Crash near Athens

Sunday August 14, 2005
A Cyprus-based Helios Airways Boeing 737 passenger jet crashed Sunday morning in the mountains north of Athens, killing all 121 people aboard. A problem with the compression system is suspected as the cause of the crash of Helios Flight ZU522 according to this CNN report.

The flight originated in Larnaca, Cyprus with a planned stop in Athens and was ultimately headed to Prague in the Czech Republic. It crashed prior to its stop in Athens.

More on the crash from The Australian and The Guardian Unlimited.
