Disoriented Dolphin Delays Ferries

Wednesday July 6, 2005
There's one more reason Greek ferries may not run on time - disoriented dolphins. One of the marine mammals became trapped in part of Piraeus harbor, prompting concerned harbor officials to completely shut down the area for an hour while the dolphin was escorted back out to the open sea, eKathimerini reports.

While I usually don't applaud ferry delays, this one was for a good cause. Greece is becoming a more ecologically-friendly environment, and one saved dolphin goes a long way to help promote environmentalism and ecotourism in Greece.
