Spend the Holidays in Greece

Tuesday December 14, 2004
It's not too late to give yourself the gift of Greece this holiday season. Many US travelers assume that European organized trips shut down for the winter, but nothing could be farther from the truth.

Remember, savvy residents of Northern Europe consider Greece with its relatively mild temperatures and many clear days to be a perfect escape from "real" winter.

In many places in Greece, autumn and winter look more like spring, as these photos from Yannis Samatas show.

Elsewhere, this year a cold snap in Southern California has even made some residents there look enviously at Athens temperature charts.

So if you'd like to spend Christmas or New Year's in Greece, or be the envy of all your friends in mid-January, check out these upcoming tours in December and January.
