Ios - Greece's Wildest Island?
Saturday October 2, 2004
Ask any Greek living on Ios if it is truly the wildest island in Greece, and you'll get a flat "No!" No one will admit to their island being too lively for comfort. But for intrepid travelers looking for just about anything, Ios seems to make it on to most of the lists of "Party Islands" in Greece. Guest columnist and Ios survivor Curtis Daly gives a few reasons to believe that just might be a well-earned reputation.

excellent
This article hits the nail on the head in describing Ios. I first heard about the island through a very obscure travel book when I made the trek in 1992 as a young soldier. I went back for the first time last summer, now in my 30’s, still an amazing place… I figure that as long as I continue to look young, have the cash, I’ll be going back
have only one thing to say: This island is one filled with magic and you can be sure that you will leave a different person…..I have lived and traveled around the world, but Ios is the one place I call HOME!!
I love Ios!!! iosnews.blogspot.com has great info on the Island.
I like the Ios News website. They should do one for all of the islands in Greece.
I want to move there this summer. It is true that it has a transforming and magical energy. My grandparents honeymooned in Ios in the 1920s and stayed 4 years.
it is a beautifull and very clean irland which i visited begining of july. Only one thing i really can not accept. On the corner by the port the coffe shop. It is the dirtiest most awful and stinky place in europe. I paid 10 euros for two non drinkable coffes served by unpolite people. it is really dirty….iam asking you pls to communicate this message because this kind of behavior must be punished.
Ios doesn’t escape the overpriced-coffee-at-the-port scam, unfortunately. I’ve had similar experiences at that last coffee spot by the port on many islands! But overall, Ios tends to offer a good deal. I just wish more of those fortunate proprietors at those “sure thing” coffee spots would be a bit kinder on price and quality to the tourists, even if they don’t “have” to be – on Ios and every other Greek island.
