The newly-reformed Olympic Airlines is scrambling to avert a strike scheduled for Thursday, September 4th by union members who fear that the new airline may not honor past government agreements with the Federation of Civil Aviation Unions. If the government and Olympic can't talk their way around this protest, and you are traveling on this day, there is a very good chance you will experience delays at least and complete cancellations at worst.
For short hops in Greece, it might be a good time to check out the Hydrofoil and Ferry Schedules as a back-up or, for land journeys or islands with car ferries, you might want to consider renting a car instead.
If the strike does occur, expect Friday and Saturday to be busier than usual days at the airports, and allow extra time for arrivals and departures.
